Katharine Villard is a fine art photography artist who uses a variety of software programs to change realistic scenes
into abstract digital images. She is a founding member of two galleries, Artistic Roots in New Hampshire, and Artisans Gallery in Cedar City, Utah. She moved to Utah in 2008, in pursuit of a lifelong attraction to desert and canyon country.
Prior to creating photo imagery, Villard had a career in higher education administration, as well as working in fine art appraising. She has masters degrees in humanities and history, and a doctoral degree in history. A native of New York City, she has lived in California, Arkansas, North Carolina and New Hampshire.
